COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS UPDATE) June 22, 2020: 2020:

We hope this post finds you and your family in good health. A few months ago the world, unknowingly, had to prepare for a pandemic crisis known as the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19). As New York state has seen a drop in confirmed cases, businesses are opening their doors. Therefore, we are happy to announce we are back to our regular office hours effective June 22. We want you to know every decision, policy and protocol we have set in place keeps the health of you and our staff our first priority.

Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. Individuals who are elderly and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection. To ensure your health and safety, and the health and safety of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household have a fever, sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing, body aches, and/or other flu-like symptoms, or if you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. If you have symptoms or are concerned you may have been exposed, please contact your primary care provider.

Governor Cuomo announced on June 1, 2020 dental offices in the Finger Lakes region may open with guidelines. We will strictly adhere to any recommendations given by the New York State Dental Association, the CDC, OSHA and ADA. The changes made to our office policies are outlined below.

- Daily staff screening with temperature checks.

- Use of hospital grade disinfectants

- Strict hand washing and sterilization techniques

- Single use disposable materials

- Stagger of appointments to alot time for disinfection and screening of patients.

- Patient will be seen by appointment only. No walk-ins allowed at this time. No exceptions. (We kindly ask you do not invite friends and family to your appointment. They will not be allowed in the office.)

- Patient is to show 10 minutes prior to scheduled appointment for temperature check, to complete questionnaire, and to wash hands. *Temperature check, form, and hand wash prior to appointment is mandatory for any visit. If any of the above is declined patient will not be seen.*

- Upon arrival, patient must call the office phone number to inform reception they are at the office. Patient must wait outside until given further direction to enter the building.

- Patient MUST WEAR FACE MASK. Patient must wear mask upon arrival and during their visit. Patient may take off mask when directed by dentist to do so. Once treatment is complete, patient is to resume wear of their mask until they have completely exited the building. (Due to the demand of face masks for the healthcare field and for our staff's safety, we will not provide one. We apologise for any inconvenience.)

Dental emergencies are defined as pain, swelling and/or bleeding. If you are experiencing a dental emergency please call the office and your call will be returned as quickly as possible.

As we move forward while adhering to our new policies, we ask for your patience. We have to adjust our scheduling quite a bit and may have to reschedule appointments to accommodate the new guidelines. We also anticipate greater than normal call volume. There are many changes and our team understands our patients have questions. We want to ensure our efforts are in place to provide a safe environment for everyone.
